We explore how the pandemic has changed Dave’s workflow, and how technology has changed the process of making a great record.

Dave shares his unique role in saving the day before Led Zeppelin’s 1st Vancouver Concert in December of 1968. His skills as an electrical technician would drive him to start Advanced Audio, improving vintage microphone designs with more reliable modern components.

We head back to Dave’s Workbench to get an inside up-close look at an original Telefunken U47.
This prized U47 microphone is in for repairs and is owned by Paul Johnston, the Head of Recording at MacEwan University and the subject of our 3rd interview.

Here’s a comparison between Paul’s Vintage Neumann U67 and Dave’s own CM67

Then we travel to Dave’s home studio to see how he’s treated his own space for recording and mixing.
