The Pryda snare is one of the most recognizable sounds in EDM music. Since it’s debut in Miami to Atlanta in 2009, the splashy reverberate snare has been used as an epic transition device in tons of popular music.

This week I was working on a mix of Chandelier by Sia for my friend’s cover band. In the song’s pre chorus, the Pryda snare sound is used to build intensity leading up to the song’s main payoff. I had a lot of fun recreating this sound, and I’m sharing my method with you!

In this video, you’ll learn the steps to making your own Pryda snare (it’s super easy) and I’ll show you how to tweak the decay of the snare to fit it in with any track.
