Looking to enhance the presence and body of your recordings? Often, the acoustics in an untreated room sound unflattering at best and we try and avoid too much room sound while recording. However this technique does the complete opposite.

Made popular by blues legend Robert Johnson, the corner loading technique uses early reflections to enhance the presence of a recording by singing/playing into the corner of the room.

This was claimed to be because Johnson was a shy performer, and didn’t want to face the engineer. In this video, I’ll test to see if this technique can make a noticeable difference on a solo singer/songwriter performance.
